Investigators examining the intertwined deaths of Anna Kepner and her half-brother have uncovered a startling new forensic link, deepening fears that both siblings may have been targeted by the same individual — or the same unknown substance.
According to forensic reports reviewed by investigators late Wednesday, a “strange, unidentified organic compound” detected on the fabric of Anna’s train seat has reappeared on her half-brother’s clothing, discovered during a routine post-mortem inspection conducted just hours after his sudden and unexplained death.
Officials described the compound as “chemically unusual, highly adhesive, and not naturally transferable in ordinary environments,” prompting an urgent round of secondary testing to determine its origin, purpose, and possible health effects.
What alarms investigators most is that the two samples — taken days apart, in entirely different locations — show near-identical microscopic structures. A senior forensic analyst close to the case called the match “too precise to be coincidental.”
