Police investigating the disappearance of 14-year-old Kacey-Rae Henderson have uncovered a disturbing new clue that could reshape the entire timeline of the case.
According to officers, a crumpled train ticket was found early this morning along a footpath Kacey-Rae is believed to have taken shortly before vanishing last Thursday. The ticket, which had been partially buried under wet leaves, was immediately sent for forensic examination — and what detectives found has stunned both investigators and the girl’s family.
A Ticket That Shouldn’t Exist
The train ticket was issued not to Kacey-Rae, but to an adult male identified only as “T. Marsh.” CCTV from the small rural station confirmed that the holder of the ticket boarded the 7:42 p.m. train — and more disturbingly, that Kacey-Rae was seen walking just a few steps behind him, though she did not appear to have a ticket of her own.
Detectives initially suspected the man might be a stranger. But after comparing the man’s face to dozens of known contacts, police say the identification was so unexpected that the family were left “shaken and silent.”
Family Reacts in Shock
When officers informed Kacey-Rae’s mother of who the man was, she reportedly asked police to repeat the name twice before breaking down in tears. Although details have not been made public, investigators confirmed the man is “someone the family never imagined being involved.”
A source close to the investigation described the discovery as “the biggest turning point so far.”
CCTV Raises Further Alarms
In the latest CCTV frame recovered from the station, the man appears to gesture for Kacey-Rae to follow him — a subtle movement that police say “completely contradicts the initial assumption that she left willingly with the boy seen earlier.”
Authorities are now urgently working to track the man’s movements after he stepped off the train at the next town — with no cameras capturing Kacey-Rae after that moment.
Search Intensifies
Specialist teams, sniffer dogs and drones have been deployed along the railway line and nearby woodland. Police warn the situation is “extremely concerning” and urge anyone who may have seen the pair together to come forward immediately.
