5Just two months earlier, Darrell, who starred on A&E’s Storage Wars from 2010 to 2023, shared what would be his last photo with his dog.
The picture, posted on Darrell’s Facebook page on February 6, captured the TV star keeping his furry companion close during a walk in the park.
Darrell held onto the dog’s leash from the sidewalk as the short, brown-haired mutt stood on a concrete bench.
He wore gray and black shorts, a black tank top, white sneakers, and a black backward cap.
The post didn’t include a caption, but fans flooded the comments praising Darrell for his fit and healthy appearance.
It had been several years since Darrell, known as “The Gambler” to fans, last appeared on screen after retiring in 2023.
The TV personality appeared in the first fifteen seasons of the hit series, which followed professional buyers as they bid on abandoned storage units in the hope of uncovering valuable items.
“We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell ‘The Gambler’ Sheets,” an A&E spokesperson said in a statement.
“Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Darrell’s son, Brandon, joined him for nine seasons of Storage Wars.
After his retirement, Darrell moved to Lake Havasu, Arizona, where he operated the antique shop, Show Me Your Junk.
Darrell previously suffered from health issues, including a heart attack in 2019.
“Well here we go I wasn’t going to say anything, but you all have been the greatest friends and fans.
“I’ve been very sick for 3 months and two nights ago I had a mild heart attack, found out I have congestive heart failure and a severe issue going on with my lung,” Darrell told fans about his condition on social media.
“All your prayers would be deeply appreciated thank you for being there for me it’s been a great ride.”
Darrell had since undergone surgery and had recovered.
The actor is survived by his ex-wife, Kimber Wuerfel, and two children, Brandon and Tiffany Shane Sheets.
