The pair had been missing since April 16. Police found the body of Zamil Limon, 27, on the Howard Franklin Bridge in Tampa and are still continuing the search for Nahida Bristy, also 27.
However, the Daily Sun reports the family on Saturday confirmed on social media that investigators found a body part that matched Bristy’s DNA.
Limon’s roommate Hisham Saleh Abugharbieh has been arrested and charged with two counts of premeditated murder, reports New Age.
Bangladeshi authorities are in touch with the victim’s families and are urging a thorough investigation and hopes “those involved are brought to justice without delay.”
‘We are in contact with all the relevant agencies, including the Bangladesh Mission in Washington, the US Department of State… We have spoken to both families and will provide all possible cooperation from our side,’ the state minister added.
