Witnesses say the man, dressed in dark clothing and wearing a hood despite the heat, stood silently at the back of the ceremony. At first, no one paid attention — until someone noticed he was tightly gripping an object in his right hand.
When officers approached to ask him to leave the area, they discovered he was holding a metal lighter, flicking it open and closed repeatedly. With flowers, wooden decorations, and candles all around the burial site, police say they feared the man could cause a fire hazard or worse — a deliberate act.
