Authorities investigating the disappearance of 8-year-old Melodee Buzzard have obtained new footage that could change the course of the entire case.
A neighbor’s outdoor security camera reportedly captured Melodee’s mother pulling into their driveway hours after the pair were last seen together. Investigators initially believed she returned home alone — until forensic analysts noticed something chilling.
At exactly the 9-second mark, a faint reflection in the car’s rear window appears to show the shadowy outline of a child in the back seat.
“It’s subtle but unmistakable,” said a law enforcement source familiar with the footage. “The outline doesn’t belong to the mother. It’s smaller — and it moves.”
Police are now working to enhance the footage using advanced image reconstruction technology to confirm whether the reflection truly depicts Melodee — or someone else entirely.
Neighbors say they are “haunted” after realizing what the footage may reveal. One resident described hearing what sounded like a “child’s quick gasp” just as the car door slammed shut.
