Vickrum Digwa, the man already sentenced for the murder of Henry Nowak, has appeared before a UK court on a series of weapons-related charges alongside his father and brother.
According to a BBC report, the 23-year-old appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on June 2 to face six counts of possessing offensive weapons in a private place.
The charges relate to the alleged possession of a flick knife, extendable baton, knuckledusters, machete, swords and kusaris.
Digwa’s father, Moga Singh, 52, and brother, Gurpreet Digwa, 27, appeared alongside him and face the same charges. Both men are currently on bail.
The BBC reported that Gurpreet Digwa also faces four additional charges: possessing an asp in a public place, possessing a prohibited weapon described as an air rifle, possessing an axe in a public place, and possessing a knife in a public place.
All of the alleged offences are dated Dec 4, 2025, one day after the killing of Henry Nowak.
The proceedings were adjourned, with the next hearing scheduled for July 9, according to the BBC.
Separately, it was revealed that Nowak had repeatedly told police officers “I can’t breathe” as he lay dying in handcuffs after being stabbed, bodycam footage shows.
The 18-year-old Southampton student was handcuffed after killer Vickrum Digwa, 23, lied to police at the scene of the 2025 stabbing, claiming he had been the victim of a racist attack, according to another BBC report.
Footage released by the force, with permission from Nowak’s family, shows him pleading “I’ve been stabbed” and an officer replying “I don’t think you have mate”.
Nowak suffered stab wounds to his legs and a fatal wound to his heart from a 21cm (8in) blade that Digwa said he carried as part of his Sikh faith. He was jailed for life with a minimum 21-year term.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said an investigation into the police force’s actions was ongoing, the report added.
